TRAMPOLINE WORLD AGE GROUP COMPETITION SUCCESS... ALMOST THERE
Gisborne trampoline athelte Ryan Besseling qualified in second place for the finals of the Double Mini Tramp for 15-16yrs Men at the 2007 World Age Group Competition in Quebec Canada. Unfortuantely Ryan was unable to carry his great form through to the final and eventually finsihed in 5th place.
Mikhail Melnik of Russia was the winner of the 2005 WAGC in the 13-14 age group both in DMT and trampoline, and proved he is top quality when he won the gold medal once again in his new age category. Melnik took the gold medal with 70.10 pts, making the difference with his first pass in the final (35.60 pts with a 7.20 pt tariff). Melnik already had the lead after the preliminaries with 71.50 pts thanks to a brilliant second pass (36.20 pts with an 8.00 pt tariff). Valeri Anisimov (RUS) won the silver medal, like he did at the 2005 WAGC and the 2003 WAGC. Anisimov obtained 69.50 pts. The bronze medal went to Spencer Dupio (USA) with 64.40 pts. Mikhail Zalomin (RUS) 4th , Ryan Besseling (NZL) 5th, who was in 2nd place after the preliminaries, and 2006 European Youth Championship silver medalist Jenten Roels (BEL) 6th took the last three spots of the final.
