NZL JUDGES APPOINTED TO OLYMPIC GAMES
Congratulations Judges It is with great pleasure that I formally announce the Judges appointments for the Beijing Olympics and FIG test event. We are proud that both Avril Enslow and Stephen Kendall are at a standard and position of respect in the gymnastics community that they are invited to officiate at the 2008 Olympics. The Beijing Olympic position is an FIG appointment specific to Avril and Stephen and we congratulate them on this honour.

TRAMPOLINE WORLD AGE GROUP COMPETITION SUCCESS... ALMOST THERE
New Zealand Athlete just missed out on the medals. Gisborne trampolinist Ryan Besseling qualified in second place for the finals of the Double Mini Tramp for 15-16yrs Men at the 2007 World Age Group Competition in Quebec Canada.

NEW ZEALAND FIRST FOR MISHA KOUDINOV
North Harbour Gymnast Misha Koudinov has become the first New Zealand athlete to reach a final in a World Cup Gymnastics Competition at the Shanghai World Cup event over the weekend.

NEW ZEALAND GROUP RETURN FROM WORLD GYMNAESTRADA
22,000 participants of all ages to part in the 2007 World Gymnaestrada. It is the FIG's official and pinnacle event for General Gymnastics (now known as Gymnastics for All). This event is non competitive, happens every four years and is open to any member club of any FIG affiliate.

HIGH IMPACT SPORTS INCREASES BONE DENSITY
Spanish researchers found that young girls who participated in artistic gymnastics had greater muscle mass and bone density than their peers whose activities were limited to gym class.

ANGELA McMILLAN SUZUKI WORLD CUP CHAMPION 2007
Angela McMillan came FIRST place at the Suzuki World Cup in Tokyo Japan over the weekend. Angela's score of 20.550 placed her more than half a mark ahead of the second placed athlete from China.

GYMSPORT MANUKAU PROMOTES ITS REGIONAL CLUBS
GymSport Manuaku Regional Service Centre brought their clubs together in January to advertise the different programmes around the region. GymSports New Zealand thinks this is a great idea and look forward to hearing about the results. If your region has done something similar, we would love to hear about it.

GYMSPORTS NEW ZEALAND NATIONAL PLAYGYM LAUNCH
PlayGym's a piece of cake! Sport and Recreation Minister, Trevor Mallard cut the cake in celebration of PlayGym being launched to New Zealand. Over 70 people, from sport, health and early childhood education attended Takauna Kindergarten to listen to the invited speakers and to get out into the sunshine with the children.

NEW ZEALAND WOMEN'S ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS JUDGES BREVET COURSE
The NZ FIG Brevet course, held at the North Harbour Millennium Institute from November 16-21st was opened by the CEO of GymSports New Zealand, Jack Ralston. He welcomed everyone, wished them well for a successful course.
