GymSchool 2010

GymSchool is an annual event aimed at coaches wishing to complete Junior or Senior Coach Courses in the following gymsport codes: Men’s Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Trampoline and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
Through practical coaching sessions and development opportunities, coaches will be guided through the GSNZ education syllabus while also being offered a fantastic opportunity to network and learn from their peers around the country. Professional development opportunities and social interaction are also included in the programme.

Course Pre-Requisites
Junior Coach:
Recreation Coach (Basic Skills, Recreation Coach and relevant online modules), First Aid, and practical coaching hours.
Advanced Junior Coach:
Junior Coach (completed 2009), Junior Coach online modules, First Aid and practical coaching hours.
Senior Coach:
Junior Coach (completed prior to 2009, which includes all Junior Coach online modules), First Aid and practical coaching hours.
Advanced Junior Coach
These courses will be held over the 10th/11th of April. GSNZ would like to encourage participants to attend the entire event and spend unallocated time observing the relative Senior Coach course.
GSNZ Presenter Training
This course will be offered dependant on expressions of interest. If you are interested in becoming a GSNZ Course Presenter, please contact your regional GymSports Officer no later than 1st February 2010. Applicants will be advised if the course is going ahead and if course application has been successful in February 2010.
GSNZ Accommodation Option
For participants travelling from out of town, an arrangement has been made with St. Margaret’s College, a local boarding school. For $140.00, participants will have 3 nights accommodation including breakfast each morning, and 2 evening meals (Friday and Saturday; the GymSchool Dinner will be on Sunday evening). Room allocations may involve participants sharing.
GymSchool Dinner
On Sunday 11th April, GSNZ will host the GymSchool Dinner. This event is included in the Junior/Senior Course Participants’ cost; however, there is an extra cost ($40) for Advanced Junior Coach, Presenter Trainees and Observers. GSNZ would also like to extend an invitation to our members who may not be involved with GymSchool 2010 to join us for this dinner. The ticket price for GSNZ members is $40.
Food and Refreshments
Lunches and morning/afternoon tea will be provided for course participants. Please indicate any special dietary requirements on the application form.
Timetable
Timetables will be completed and published shortly, but participant are asked to be present from 3pm on Friday 9th until midday on Monday 12th. GSNZ ask that travel plans are made outside these times.
Transport
GSNZ will provide transport between venues and the GSNZ accommodation at St. Margaret’s College. Participants will need to arrange their own transport from Christchurch Airport to the venue/GSNZ accommodation; however GSNZ will be running mini-van transport from the venue to the airport from midday. The last run to the airport will be at 3pm on Monday 12th April.

Member Clubs with Gymsport Partnership Database (GPD) access may enter participants via GPD. For participants without GPD access, please complete and return the application form to:

Electronic submissions would be preferred as processing procedures can be implemented faster.
Participants/clubs will receive confirmation of entry via email.
Clubs will be invoiced for each participant after entries close.
Please Note:
· Withdrawals after the closing date and up until three days prior to the course will be refunded, minus 25% of the course cost. Any person withdrawing three days or less before the course will not be eligible to receive a refund.
· GSNZ will consider registrations that are received after the course closing date but these entries will incur a $50 penalty fee.
